about

Icy noisescapes and metallic slabs of reverb herald the post-pandemic return of London's You The Living, the night terror sleep paralysis demons of dreampop.

When frontman Aidan James put forward the suggestion of covering "One Hundred Years", he joked, "this is going to be the bleakest thing ever".

The months that followed were harrowing. What was already a hauntingly desperate cry into the void became a conduit for Aidan's pain, grief, and anguish. The recent sudden and unexpected deaths of close friends and the couple-band's beloved dog, the decline of Aidan's health, and the trauma of fighting to survive this physical, mental, and emotional onslaught were all poured into You The Living's screeching, agonised interpretation of one of The Cure's darkest moments - now one of You The Living's darkest moments, too
