Pop Nerd who’s obsessed with finding that sweetspot between Indie and Pop
Always lurking on the internet to find popsongs for his own playlists, Richard (Colds) is a
genuine musicnerd and songwriter who is obsessed with finding that sweetspot between
Indie, Pop, Guitar and 80’s Synth’s. Taking inspiration from acts like LANY, Fiji Blue, Lauv
and HARLOE as well as Elliott Smith, Daft Punk and Weezer.
Writing, producing and mixing all his songs from out of his homestudio in Groningen, the
Netherlands.
Colds received some early praise by tastemakers such as Peter Robinson from acclaimed
Popblog ‘Popjustice’ where his song ‘Not Giving You Up’ landed on ‘The Popjustice Edit’ as
well as Mtv host Kevan Kenny’s ‘Kevan’s Community Playlist’ and Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds:
Pop’
Colds released his 5 song debut Ep ‘Magic’ in July 2022 and the fourth single of that Ep
landed on Spotify’s: NMF, NEON, Vidam Slagerek and Nemazapop.
Richard has always been a big fan of Kylie Minogue and when he was asked by GIITTV
music blog to contribute a coversong of the Pop Queen he didn’t need to think twice. ‘’The
One has always been one of my favorite tracks by Kylie. It kinda portray’s the same vision
of Pop that I see for Colds. It’s fresh, catchy and at the same time there’s a sense of
meloncholy and nostalgia woven through it.
You can expect more single’s from Colds during the second half of 2022
